Meet the Doctor

Meet Dr. Sanket

Dr. Sanket completed his Bachelor Of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree in India in 2011, and moved to Thunder Bay that fall. While assisting and managing dental clinics in Saskatoon and Toronto, he worked hard to successfully complete the National Dental Examination Board certification in 2016 and obtain his dental license in Canada. He was drawn back to the opportunity to return to Thunder Bay in Feb 2016 and has been serving the community since.

Dr. Sanket prides himself on his ability to communicate with his patients. He strives to create an environment where his patients know all of the possible treatment options available. He then works with each individual to help them make informed decisions that cater specifically to their own wishes and needs.

Being committed to lifelong learning, Dr. Sanket regularly pursues continuing education through dental conferences and courses to enhance his knowledge and be at the forefront of advances in dentistry.

He is a member in good standing with the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, the Ontario Dental Association as well as the Academy Of General Dentistry.

The vision for Birch Point comes with the need to make it a special experience for the patient in a relaxed, and fun environment. The name Birch Point Dental Clinic came out of the love for outdoors that Dr. Sanket, his wife, Rachelle, daughter, Alina, and two Australian Shepherds, Rusty and Ruby, enjoy. Outside the clinic, you can find Dr. Sanket enjoying a hike, camping in the summer, traveling; talking about new food dishes he’s tried a hand at! Depending on the year, he might or might not be skiing, playing soccer or trying to fish.

I’m an FAGD dentist! What does that mean for you and your family?

FAGD stands for Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. Earning Fellowship takes dedication to dental continuing education (CE) beyond graduation. Only about 6 percent of general dentists in the U.S. and Canada are AGD Fellows. When you see a dentist with FAGD after their name, you can rest assured that they care about knowing the latest techniques and best practices in dentistry. AGD Fellows practice these techniques in a classroom setting multiple times a year — not every dentist does this.

To become an AGD Fellow, a dentist must:

  • Complete over 500 credit hours of CE.
  • Earn 350 of those 500 credits in live courses.
  • Pass an exam equal in difficulty to board certification exams.

Dr. Sanket and his team look forward to meeting and welcoming you to our office!

Voted Best Dentist in Thunder Bay 2020 and 2021!
